VOLUNTARY ACTIVITIES IN CASE YOU GET A BIT BORED DURING THE EASTER HOLIDAYS
Here is an idea for the EasteR holidays!!! Why don't you try some cooking at home? Below you can watch English chef Jamie Oliver preparing three very English desserts. Maybe you could prepare one of these desserts at home and tell me about it later on a video EXPLAINING IT IN ENGLISH!!!!. It´s NOT "OBLIGATORY" , just an idea so you do something at home with your family if you get a bit bored during these holidays!!! If you want to cook something different have a look at Jamie's website https://www.jamieoliver.com/.
And if you like Harry Potter or even if you don't like him HAVE A LOOK at this website
And if you don't want to do anything at all then have a rest and DO NOTHING!!!
y si no quieres hacer nada de nada entonces descansa y ¡¡NO HAGAS NADA!!

LITERACY. ACTIVITES FOR THE SECOND WEEK OF QUARENTINE
ACTIVIDADES
PARA EL PERIODO DE CUARENTENA
Hellooo, how are you all? I hope
you and your families are all ok. This week we are going to work on the
comparative adjectives. You saw some videos last Friday. You can copy the
theory and do the exercises on your notebook(don’t need to print anything) on
Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday and Thursday do the exercises online. Remember that this temporalization is
only a guide!!.
MONDAY 23th of
MARCH.
Copy on your notebook
COMPARATIVE ADJECTIVES.
Comparative
adjectives are used to compare differences between the two objects they modify
(larger, smaller, faster, higher). They are used in sentences where two
nouns are compared, in this pattern:
Noun (subject) + verb + comparative adjective + than +
noun (object)
FORMING REGULAR COMPARATIVES.
Forming
comparatives is easy. The form
depends on the number of syllables in the original adjective.
ONE
SYLLABLE ADJECTIVES
Add -er for
the comparative. If the adjective has a consonant + single
vowel + consonant spelling, the final consonant must be doubled before adding
the ending (for example, big-bigger, sad-sadder).

tall taller
fat fatter
Examples:
John is 1m80. He is
tall. But Chris is 1m85. He is taller than John.
America is big. But
Russia is bigger.
TWO
SYLLABLES
Adjectives
with two syllables can form the comparative either by adding -er or
by preceeding the adjective with more.
Adjective
|
Comparative
|
||
happy
|
happier
|
|
simpler
|
busy
|
busier
|
Example
John is happier than peter.
English is easier than Spanish.
THREE OR MORE SYLLABLES
Adjectives with three or more
syllables form the comparative by putting more in front of the
adjective.
Adjective Comparative
important
more important
expensive
more expensive
Example
Dogs are more beautiful than
rats.
EXCEPTIONS
The following adjectives have irregular forms
good ---------- better
well(healthy) ---- better
bad -------------- worse
far -------------- farther/further
TUESDAY 24th of MARCH.
Finish copying the theory and complete the following
exercises.
Complete
with a comparative adjective and all the necessary words.
The
train is ______________
than the bus. (fast)
The
cows on the farm were______________ tan the sheep.(loud)
Snakes
are ............................. (fast) snails.
London
is ............................ (big) Madrid.
Snails
are ........................... (slow) snakes.

HAVE YOU FOUND THE THREE MISTAKES? THEY ARE UP HERE↑↑
READING COMPREHENSION
The reading comprehension is a little bit more difficult to self correct(auto corregir) but I am giving a couple of answers and see if they coincide with yours. I apologize if the questions were a bit difficult and some of them are not properly constructed. I highlighted the questions in the text so you can find them.
1. The dogs told the cats that they had some important papers.
2. Because the cats didn't have anywhere to keep the papers.
or
Because the cats had nowhere to keep the papers.
3. The mice were cold.
4. They said " We had nowhere safe to keep them and we gave them to the mice".
or
The cats told the dogs that they have given the papers to the mice because they had nowhere to keep them.
5. Because the mice had made nests(beds) with the papers.
or
Because the mice nibbled on the papers and had made nests with them.
6. They weren't(were not) friends anymore.
TEXT.
Once upon a time dogs, cats and mice were friends. Then, one day, the dogs had to go away for a trip. "We have some important papers", they told the cats. "Will you look after them for us?". "Yes" said the cats, "We will keep them safe for you".
When the dogs had gone, the cats said "We have nowhere to keep the papers, let's give them to the mice". "Will you look after these papers for us?" the cats asked the mice. "We´ll look after them for you" answered the mice.
Winter came, the mice were cold. They nibbled at the papers and made little nests to keep themselves warm. Then, one day, the dogs came back. "We´ve come for our papers" they said to the cats. "We had nowhere safe to keep them" said the cats. "We gave to the mice". The cats went to the mice. The dogs are back" they said. "We've come for the papers". When they saw what the mice had done, the cats were very angry. They chased every mouse they saw.
The cats went back to the dogs. "The mice did not look after your papers", the cats said. "The mice were cold so they made them into nests".
The dogs were very angry with the cats. They chased every cat they saw. From that day on, dogs have chased cats. They have never been friends again.
La autocorreción de esta reading comprehension es complicada así que no os preocupéis si las respuestas no son exactamente como las mías, además algunas de las preguntas no estaban formuladas correctamente desde el punto de vista gramatical, mi culpa al no fijarme del todo bien cuando lo elegí...SORRYYY!!!.
ABOUT YOUR COMPOSITION...I can have a look at your compositions if you can scan and send them(or write them directly) to my e-mail address literacyoctavus@outlook.es but if you can not, don´t worry. We will correct them when this quarentine is finished.
SOBRE VUESTRA REDACCIÓN, Puedo echarles un vistazo si me las mandáis a mi correo electrónico literacyoctavus@outlook.es , podéis escanear y mandarlas o escribirlas directamente en el mail pero sino podéis no pasa nada, las miraremos cuando acabe la cuarentena.
I WILL SEND YOU SOME MORE ACTIVITIES ON MONDAY MORNING,
STAY SAFE,STAY INSIDE AND HAVE A NICE WEEKEND!!!!!!!!
